Does chalk paint made with POP always show brush strokes?

I don't like to see so much of the brush strokes when I use the chalk paint. Maybe I should just go back to painting with regular paint to have a smoother finish. Any ideas of what products to use for smooth look? I've seen Benjamin Moore acclaim and Sherwin Williams product mentioned.

By thinning the chalk paint with chalk water you can get a smoother surface.

@Ulf Virtanen this makes sense. I thought it was thin enough, but probably not. I've read of dipping the brush in water as you go along, so I can try that. I'm going to see what other folks think, too. Thanks!

If you blend it correctly, you shouldn't have any brush strokes. I use plaster of paris + calcium carbonate + water, make that into a very smooth paint and then mix that into my paint of choice. Works beautifully and leaves no brush strokes.

Sue@countrydesignhome,,can you please give measurement formula for the three ingredients you mentioned? Thanks so much!

Sue, do you make long strokes or random ones. Perhaps it's technique. Looks like there are some of us who don't care for all the brush marks. Just used first coat with calcium carbonate and i added a little floetrol to the mix as I had read that somewhere as a one to help eliminate brush marks. Looks better than the POP did, but not brush free. Would love any info you can share.
