Trail Sign for Your Valentine

Some Valentine's need a little more direction then others. Mine has figured out where to find a card and a box of chocolates, but if only he could find his way to the day spa and get yours truly a gift certificate. A girl can dream...and at least try to point him the right direction with a Valentine trail sign.
Actually, the typical Valentine would probably groan at the sight of a pink sign spouting cutesy campground inspired Valentine sayings, but isn't Valentine's Day all about the "cute" in all of us anyway??
I started with a few random slats of pallet wood.
Arrows were drawn on with chalk on two of the three slats.

Two of the slats were cut, sanded and then dyed with a mix of 1/4 cup hot water, 2 tablespoons vinegar and about 15 drops of red food coloring.

The third slat was sanded and then painted white.

Cutesy sayings were made on PicMonkey and then traced onto the arrows by placing carbon paper underneath.

A white paint pen was used to trace over the lettering several times, and all pieces were sanded down slightly with a power hand sander.

The arrows were attached to the white painted slat with construction adhesive and then holes were drilled to thread through twine for hanging.
Don't let your Valentine get lost, ever again!! ;-)

Ohhh, I wish I had seen this earlier! Loooooooooooooooove it! Definitely on my list for next year. Thank you so much for sharing this. It's adorable and will go perfect with our camper at the river. Thinking about it, this could also be used for other holidays! For Easter, Peter Cottontail Park. LOL
