I really like the fact that the island/table is fairly narrow yet allows for a work surface and I like the contrast color. When we had our kitchen cabinets/floor/counter replaced, we were told that our kitchen space is really too narrow for an island, because it is only 8 1/2 feet (open space) across. We felt that we could get a nice island in the space and still leave adequate room to walk around. This table looks like it would fit well.
