Like Clip

Bird Seed Wreath

Recipe:

4 cups of wild bird seed

1/2 cup of warm water

1 envelope of Knox gelatin

3/4 a cup of flour

bundt pan

nonstick spray

3 tbl. light corn syrup

whisk

wooden spoon

newspaper

  • Like Clip
    1. Spray your bundt pan with nonstick spray. 2. Mix your Knox gelatin with 1/2 cup of warm water, whisk until mixed. Then whisk in the flour and corn syrup...

    3. Add your bird seed and stir coating the seed well with a wooden spoon. Then pour it into your greased bundt pan

    . Press mixture firmly

    5.Leave mixture in bundt pan to completely hardened overnight it will come right out of the you pan.

    6. I used some fabric strips ripping it to tie a ribbon around it and add and add a bow. Hang it in an area that won't be exposed to the rain.

    My birdies thank-you! I make my own suet cakes and the pinecone/peanut butter feeders, but this is beautiful and a nice change. This would also be a sweet gift paired with a birdhouse. Thank-you!

    I spent part of my weekend making a dozen of these for my mail carrier, stylist and the local librarians. They are easy to do and look so pretty when done up. Thank-you again for the great gift idea.

    Your welcome! You can also make ornaments just fill the cookie cutters with the bird seed and poke a hole with a straw. Use twine or ribbon. Merry Christmas!

    Anna Hanley just wanted to let you know that we put our Christmas tree outside for the birds and other animals after we take it down, and this year it is graced with these little feeders. I cut the tops off plastic jugs large enough to shelter them and fed the hanging line through the spout. Works great!
