Hanging Hearts Dish Towel

Today I’m sharing a fun and functional Hanging Heart Dish Towel you can make for your home or for gifts.
I made two today and I LOVE them. I have the dish towels on the hanger on the counter and my hubs and daughter use it to dry their hands and then toss it on the counter. Do yours do that and not hang it up?
My Aunt Pat used to make these with crocheted tops and I thought they’d be perfect to hang off our dishwasher and dry our hands and how cute for Valentine’s Day too.
I found these pink small fingerlet towels at Marshalls for $2 each and the darling Hearts Pillowcase at a thrift store for $.95 and knew it would be so adorable upcycled into some fun home décor.
To make the straps part of the towel I cut four pieces 15.5″ x 5″ and 3.5″ at the smaller end. I wanted to cute the wider end in a heart like shape so I folded it in half and cut two scallops. I also cut two pieces of solid white cotton fabric to line or interface the inside.
I thought it would be darling to cut out some of the hearts and applique them on the bottom of the towels. I LOVE Heat n Bond and use it a lot. If you haven’t used it yet you can iron it onto fabric and then peel the paper of and then iron that heart onto the item you want to applique making it soooo much easier to sew on.
Come on over to the blog for the rest of the easy tutorial.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day, Lisa
