Training your dog is the only long-term solution, OP.

I love my dog so much but it constantly did the things that irked me most. It would chew on things that it shouldn’t or jump up and down out of the blue. Whenever I put on the leash, it would pull on it. Whenever it was out of the house, it would continue digging on the ground - I wish I could tell what it was looking for down there. All the things it did left me feeling depressed as if I failed it monumentally.

But since I discovered Brain Training for Dogs and applied the system offered, it now behaves the way a beautiful dog I always expect of.

Natures Miracle works wonderful, you can find it in a pet store, takes the smell and stain out. My dog pee on the new carpet this stuff is great no harsh chemicals . Peroxide will discolor the rug

Take regular old rubbing alcohol and spray on any stain on carpet or rug. Take a white rag and rub the stained area. It will remove even old dried stains. I quit buying the name brand stain removers a long time ago. It will not stain and it removes the pet urine smell.

You might want to try Oxi-Clean mixed with warm water. Pour it onto the stain, let it sit for about 5 minutes, then soak the liquid up with a towel. Standing on the towel shortens the wait time. Repeat if necessary. It worked when I was litter training my kitten. Good Luck!

@LeAnn Patrick Kramer oxyclean comes in a spray cleaner too - I use this on all kinds of things and it works wonder. Following this treatment I would soak the area with vinegar (full strength) then sprinkle with baking soda to get the odor out, let dry then vacuum up. If you catch the accident when still wet you can usually get away with the vinegar/baking soda treatment alone.

I agree with Michelle. Natures Miracle has been a life saver while house breaking my puppy. I get it at petsmart and have also ordered it on amazon. I've also used hydrogen peroxide mixed with dawn dish soap - watered down (my go-to stain remover for almost everything). It removes the odor and stain but can sometimes affect the color. If you go that route, test an inconspicuous spot first!

The best cleaner you will EVER find is Krud Kutter!!!! We use it on everything, it is color safe. I have 2 small dogs that have accidents and it works great. Also use for stains on clothing, just spray and throw in washer. I also spilled 1/2 can of ASCP on carpet and used the Krud Kutter and was able to completely remove all the paint!!! GREAT STUFF!!

I have 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They are wonderful dogs and fully housebroken now, but as pups...well, you can guess. I also tried everything and I have a carpet shampooer. They all looked great at first but the stains kept coming back. I am afraid there are times when you have to call in the pros. I don't know how they did it but the stains never came back. Well worth the money to save the rug.

Dump baking soda on both sides, let dry, vacuum up. Works on messy poop too. Must let it stand till all liquids are absorbed into baking soda. I use shop vac to suck all the materials. Then I use white vinegar to finis cleaning.h

Does it remove the stain after it has dried? Do you use the vinegar full strength and how long do you let it sit for?

I just use 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide (straight, no chaser) plus a few squirts of Dawn dish washing liquid. It worked like a charm. I like the idea of adding vinegar for those stains which make you wish that you didn't have a nose!

Clorox has a new product called "Urine Remover" and it is great. Smells nice and even works on old stains. I know Lowe's carries it.

I use Resolve Carpet cleaner in the liquid form in a spray bottle, follow directions on bottle. It works for me, even on older stains.
