Dishwasher cover up

I would like to know how to put a wooden cover over our dishwasher so that when we paint our kitchen cupboards it will blend in. Any ideas? Thanks n advance for your response!

  • How to do this is dependent upon the type of front your current dishwasher has. Those with current fronts that are removable its simply a task of removing the trim sections around the front panels and removing them. Once removed you can either purchase panels from the cabinet company that fits your current dishwasher or purchase or construct matching panels to fit. Many dishwashers constructed today have somewhat a solid front and are not removable. On those you need to glue new doors over the front cabinet. This is not easy, nor suggested. The added weight will put additional stress on the springs and hinges that can cause damage to the unit should the door fall open when your not expecting it. Don't forget you can always paint the dishwasher also. Just need to properly clean and prep it. Most paints will work fine. But in case the color or brand your using does not work on the metal front, you can purchase paint with custom color so it will. That is the easiest way to get the equipment to match the new paint job.

L brackets were put on the bottom of the butcherblock. Placed them right were the studs are in the wall. Two sides are screwed in the wall and one is in the side of the sink cabinet. The front is screwed to the dishwasher brackets. I oil it once a month which is kind if relaxing. I love having it!
