Budget Kitchen Makeover/Remodel

When we purchased our home, it came with a dated kitchen filled with random cabinets and ugly flooring. With a few easy DIY projects we were able to brighten up the kitchen. (Below is the after shot.)
Here is what the kitchen looked like when we purchased it.
The average minor remodel of a kitchen is $18,500. We did this for less than $1000 (excluding our discount fridge) but that included the new pantry that we built (in another post).

We took out some random cabinets off to the side. We changed our the flooring, painted the cabinets, spray painted the hinges (to avoid extra cost), purchase an $8 sink from the ReStore (separate post), added handware, changed the faucet, and added a little wainscoting.

With a few goodwill, salvaged pieces, antique, and clearance items our kitchen is now bright and functional. For any additional info, please feel free to go to our site.
