Vintage Waterfall Chest in Linen

My client said this vintage cedar chest belonged to her mother and that her mother almost threw it out. She recently found it packed away and wanted to have it refinished in hopes that it could continue to be passed down through the family. It's always an honor to work on family pieces and I'm so thankful she trusted me with it. Her mother is gone now, but I hope every time she looks at it, it will bring back wonderful memories.
Before and After
I refinished the front panel by sanding it down and staining it with two coats of Java Gel from General Finishes. I also added this wood applique to add some interest to the front. The chest is painted in Linen from General Finishes.
I also refinished the top same as above.

Great job! My son has one just like this that belonged to his grandmother...he absolutely adores & treasures it. Unfortunately, the left end got badly damaged while stored in a basement...not water damage, but looks like it got a hard hit by something maybe falling on it. I am going to clip this in case he ever wants to have it repaired.
