DIY Jewelry Storage Board

Put an empty wall to work as a jewelry storage station! After moving to a new home with a serious lack of storage space, I came up with this solution for keeping my jewelry organized. With just a few supplies and an empty patch of wall in my closet, I created this easy DIY jewelry storage board!
I started by simply cutting a few inches off the bottom of a 2x4 board. I reattached that piece as a small shelf, braced by brackets underneath.

I screwed in a row of cup hooks underneath, spacing them about an inch apart. I also added lattice trim around all the edges to give it a finished look.
Everything got a coat of white spray paint, then the fun began! I went to the thrift store and gathered up a few pretty dishes and vases. These items are so easy to find and very inexpensive. I also used a wire painting tray insert and a picture frame to serve as earring storage.
I used epoxy glue to attach the dishes, which now serve as storage for earrings, rings, and smaller items, and the vases neatly hold stacks of bracelets and watches. Necklaces hang on the hooks below, and stay tangle-free!
I attached the whole thing with heavy duty screws in the top corners, painted white to blend in. I love how it turned out, and everybody who sees it wants me to make them one too! Get more info on my DIY Jewelry Storage Station on my blog!
