This is difficult to answer without pics to show where your windows/door/etc. are located. Only suggestion I can made without pics is to try to position the bed so one side isn't pushed up to the wall for ease of changing sheets, etc.

I used to draw out my rooms putting the furniture in different spots until I was happy with the way I thought it would look, then I would rearrange it to the picture. After many years of that, now I can just look at a room and rearrange the pieces in my head.
  • Every well designed room needs a focal point, create one with a piece of furniture a dresser and mirror, an armoire with the television above it, a wall of paintings, collectibles, etc. Allow enough space to walk around the bed and to make the bed. Design your night tables, with a lamp, clock, room for water, organized on a tray looks pretty. Use a tranquil color, blue or green for example, or a theme, and room darkening curtains, etc. to keep the sun out if wanted.

When I heard that it was best not to have the foot of the bed toward the door I thought that was crazy because that is the way bedrooms are designed but when I consider the best sleeps I've had are usually in hotel rooms with the bed facing the other way I reconsidered. I can't do in our house because of slanted ceilings but it would be nice. http://feng-shui.lovetoknow.com/Feng_Shui_Bed_Positioning

I prefer putting the foot of the bed toward the door, if possible .Maybe it has to do with keeping a watch out for sabre tooth tigers or feng shui but I know I sleep better.
