  • I found the metal bins at Home Depot and thought they would be the perfect addition to underneath the work bench. 4

  • I didn't want a run of the mill craft table. I wanted something that I didn't care if I got paint or stain all over it. I needed something tougher. I thought why not stick a workbench in there! 2

I put my workbench on wheels so I could move it easily if I wanted to.

  • Kitchen Floor BEFORE-I've had this floor for almost 20 years. It was not in my budget to replace it. I had seen people paint their wood floors, so I decided to try to paint my vinyl/linoleum floor. 2
  • Before painting with primer--I mopped the floor with a little dish soap, Mr. Clean and warm water. I rinsed the floor until the water was clean and soap free. This took about 6 moppings.
After the floor dried, I wiped it down with TSP (Trisodium phosphate). The TSP helps to clean, degrease, and dull the finish of the floor. I used a latex "oops" gray primer.
  • I have 2 cats and a dog. I used my leaf blower to make sure there were no stray hairs flying around. 1
  • To get a good feel for the pattern I used newspapers. 2
  • I got busy with some painter's tape and started painting my squares.
  • I used Mythic paint. It went on really well, and 18 months later, is holding up fantastic. I don't like shiny floors-I chose the original floor for THAT reason. It was dull. I chose a satin paint, and decided not to seal the paint. 3
  • I love how it turned out, but honestly, now that I have black countertops (that I painted) I'm thinking about changing out the blue squares.... You can see the full tutorial over at My Repurposed Life http://bit.ly/IeyAKO 8
  • UPDATED to add. I have changed out the blue squares for dark gray squares. See more details on the blog. http://bit.ly/Y8wq6S

How to paint outdated linoleum floor

Last week I showed my oak cabinets that I painted white. Several people remarked about not painting wood. I hope no one has objections to me painting linoleum. :) ...»

  • After cleaning this pallet, I painted it with several different colors, and lightly distressed it.
  • Makes for a perfect display shelf. I love to change it up per season.

Tossed to the garbage at Lowe's hardware pallet

a strange request, however my son saved the day and said, My Mom is a blogger and she is always doing projects, she will come up with something.

sign. I then primered and painted chair leg. The next thing you do is lay out the wings and drill holes in the metal wings and leg. You will use two 1 inch wood screws per wing. I wanted to do something different for the eyes so I went with old keys and the antennas come from an wire decor item that used to hang on the wall. The final step is to use a clearcoat spray to seal the metal and leg. These look wonderful on porches, in the garden and even in the house! www.facebook.com/repurposedlifeokla
