Outdoor Living: What is appropriate to make my backyard corner a grotto and concrete wall corner to avoid dumping of grass

I need help to fix the noise from my water pipe as we open the faucet /shower/toilet flush washing machine/anything to use or open the water inside the house. The noise is like there is air pressure in the water pipe. Thank you.

Plumbing: How deep should a sewer line be buried in the yard from house to street?

I'm having my home hooked up to the sewer. It doesn't look like they are putting the pipe more than 6 inches deep in some parts of the line. Is this enough?

I am not aware of any code on depth of a building drain. I have seen jobs were building drains ...»
are above ground due to the way the lot has been graded, or due to a drainage ditch, that said Woodbridge is correct, if the job is permitted then the inspector will approve or fail the build drain. Has the final grade been made on the lot? You can also call the Department of Community Affairs, they are the ones that enforce the code here in Ga.

I think you will need to go to your local plumbing supply. The big box stores here do not ...»
stock them. You may want to think about replacement cost, and the finished look, broken bowl will be more expensive than a standard toilet.

Heating & Cooling: tankless water heater

I am thinking ahead...does anyone have a tankless water heater? I wondered if they need to be vented outside, like a dryer, and if you have noticed a reduction in your utilities. Are ...»
you happy with it-any drawbacks or things I should look for or ask about?

Dee, I have had a tankless for about nine years now and I did check my savings in the ...»
beginning and my summer time bills the therm use was about half from when I had a tank. If you have a gas model put in it will have to be vented to the outside, if you go electric you will most likley need a larger electric panel.

I agree KMS on the grease, and since you have it out replace it with a new one. The binding ...»
may be from a pinched o-ring, or a worn out seal.

I read that you sholdn't use Plumber's putty, but the installation instructions does not specifically identify what should be used. I tried to contact the manufacturer but have not had a reply. Help!

silicone will work but you will not be able to remove it. Plumbers putty should not be used ...»
on natural stone products, due to the oil in the putty that will bleed into and stain the stone. I did see a no oil putty at my local big box store, I have never used it.
