Painting: I knew I should have taken a different route home.

But, I didn't. I drove right past the vintage shop and turned around and yes, I went in the shop. Lo and behold, this is what I walked out with. Never mind that I haven't even started on ...»
the vintage chaise or the wonderful crate! But tell me, would you have left this in the store? Now comes the question.....do I leave it as is or shall I paint? I'm thinking I'll use in the lanai. It's a pretty sturdy piece and vintage for sure. I would say 40s or 50s. I think it looks good as is, but wanted to get some opinions. Thanks.

How I grew my upper kitchen cabinets!

to get it done, but it was worth the effort and burns from the hot glue gun. Thanks Nikki and good luck on the opening of your new store. I can't wait to check it out!

  • We had this old ugly lamp and found this chair at an auction. My son said it was shaped like Pooh's honey jar......so we went with it - covered the shade and painted the base and chair to match!

  • After picture. We have plans to add a no-sew tu-tu bed skirting, paint on the walls, and other pretty stuff.

From Crib to Toddler Bed

After moving into our home over a year ago, we apparently lost the attachment that turns the crib into a toddler bed. She was already climbing out of her crib even after dropping the mattress to the floor. After taking down the former crib front, I was able to reuse the top piece for the side rail. No screws are poking through, the bed is stable, and my daughter's leg cannot get caught between the rail and mattress. The best part, she loves it. Now for ideas to repurpose the old crib front.
