How to clean linoleum floors!

Another great tip has been given to me about cleaning those sometimes irritating linoleum floors. By using three great household items (baking soda, vinegar/water mixture, and a wet rag) one can have sparkling clean floors. Baking soda is perfect for the uneven, grooved surfaces of linoleum floors. Instructions at the link below.

I've been using 1/2 peroxide and 1/2 warm water on mine and its working great. Love the shine ...»
and no streaks. I know they say not to use water but I've tried all the other cleaners and I'm a little bit of a clean freak as my kids use to say and I clean mine everyday (sometimes twice a day) according to the traffic. No damage.

Barnwood Christmas Mantel

My hubby actually MADE me a mantel for part of my Christmas present! It is made from barnwood from our farm which makes it extra special for us. I decorated it up for Christmas to show it ...»
off a bit. There is actually one of those small electric fireplaces inside. This is the perfect addition to our country farmhouse home.

I decided that my front door wreath needed a makeover.Soo I took all the 'old' stuff off it (dried flowers pretty old and tatty some tired decorations plus some ribbon )I made use of the ribbon elsewhere '-D

I used some fabric (bought VERY CHEAP ,my now favourite Burlap **and a bit of sparkle * I love it!!It now has a fresh look and cost next to nothing (love that) You don't have to spend a lot of money*

  • My front porch all decked out for fall!
  • This old wood box is full of faux pumpkins, flowers, leaves and a mini scarecrow.
  • I made the "S" by adding adhesive trim to a faux pumpkin.
  • My foyer table is decorated with more painted faux pumpkins and free subway art.
  • I painted an aqua stripe on the white pumpkin and made polka dots on the orange pumpkin using a pencil eraser.
  • Front door wreath made from Dollar Store items. Just hot glued everything on the wreath and hung it from a piece of ribbon.

Autumn Decor

I love to decorate my front porch for the different seasons & holidays. I can leave all of this out for autumn, Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Dumpster Diving Minus the Dumpster

I salvaged this fun piece from a burn pile. It was filthy, covered in chicken poop. A little cleaning and paint, some added "hooks" saved it from an untimely death.
