Ceramic Tile For Our Basement Walkout (I have a dog!)
When deciding what to use for the flooring in our basement walkout makeover, we decided carpet would not work because of our dog. We decided ceramic tile would work best. Are we happy we did it? Yes. We painted the walls white, and added outdoor rugs for warmth.

There's always pros & cons to every floor. The worst part here, is the cold.

Hi Redheadcandecorate. we also have a lab and mostly our place is tiled. I agree with you the tiles can make the room feel cold, but better than having dog hair and dirty paw prints all over expensive carpet, or scratches from dog claws all over a timber floor! I love the idea of the slate so it does not look dirty all the time. Our tiles are very light coloured and every wet or muddy paw print shows!! I could wash the floor every day if I had time!
