KatRamsey on Feb 13, 2015I've had the same problem as I have a butcher block island. Took forever to find a product to get rid of those black water rings. Oxalic acid wood bleach. Takes a few applications but it works.Helpful Reply

Jill on Feb 13, 2015I used lemon juice. You have to let it sit a little while though. When you are done, just remember to lightly sand the wood down and use mineral oil to keep the counters from getting stained again. Usually you should clean them and wipe them off really good and then put the mineral oil at least every week or two.Helpful Reply
