Painted Dresser & Nightstand

I almost forgot to snap a few before photos, but managed to get some just before I started painting. The dresser and nightstand set was in good condition structurally, but the old finish was dirty and worn, so it was time to give the set a second chance.
I love the shape of the dresser, but the dark finish hid the beautiful details.
Both pieces were painted in Old White. I added light to medium distressing throughout to give them a classic heirloom finish.
Both pieces were sanded and waxed to a smooth finish. The distressed areas give the details just enough highlight to accentuate the curves.
I added medium distressing around the details on the drawers.
I kept the original hardware and painted it the same color as the dresser. I added some highlights in silver to the hardware.

@Cheri It was an unseasonably warm couple of days in February! It was sunny and almost 60 degrees. Otherwise, I've been working on projects inside and looking forward to Spring. I would love to see photos of your set when they're finished.

Beautiful! Did you use Chalk Paint?
    • Patricia Patricia on Feb 15, 2015
@Milknhoneycreations Yes, I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White and finished with soft wax. I used about 1/2 can of paint for both pieces. Thank you for your feedback.
