Christmas lights
One of my favorite light displays for the holidays will always be "the blue tree" that we saw a few years ago at the Denver Botanic Gardens. It was a huge 60 foot high tree done completely in blue. The year we saw it I did not have my camera with me, so I was not able to capture its splendor. That year it was bone chilling cold so it was probably a good thing I did not have my camera.

Since the blue tree year, we have always used just blue lights for our own tree.
I recently got to visit a pretty impressive display at someone's home up near Cheyenne. It is hands down the biggest private residence display I have ever seen in person.
Clark Griswold would be proud. My pics only show about 1/4 of the full display..the yard is about 2 acres and completely full of dozens of individuals "displays".
My other favorite light display comes from mother nature...and can be viewed year round by simply looking up at night... out here in the remote west is can be pretty impressive. Unfortunately for most folks in the US urban light pollution prevents this wondrous display from being viewed in all of its splendor.

Beautiful pictures Kevin. We live in the country on the west edge of all the lights on the eastern half of the US so we get quite a might time light show, but nothing like you get in west/mountain states. Wyoming and parts of Colorado have always been my favorite states for their low populated country views and wide open skies.
