How can I change out a flat pocket door and replace with a panel one?

No it isn't as long as the door is the same size. Generally it is two or three pieces of trim that need to be removed - one of the top pieces to access the hardware and the stop piece where the door comes out, allowing it to swing clear. undo the hardware latches & swing the door out - reinstall hardware & slide door back in http://www.buildingmoxie.com/2014/06/taking-out-a-wall/ is a guest piece I did on @Building Moxie site & at the bottom you can see the hardware & upper piece removed (yeah I was pulling the whole unit at that time)
