I have a 5' brass easel that I use to display a large portrait of my son. I need a new purpose for the easel. What would be a diy project for my easel?

I use one at Christmas time to display the book, "The Night Before Christmas" you could display any book you love... Or use a shadowbox type frame & fill it with something you enjoy & display it. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/32932640997892618/

This is a standard size easel so first you may consider changing the color. Obtain some artwork you would like to display. Goodwill or resale shops are perfect. Purchase a blank canvas (available at all craft stores) and be the master of your display. Create your own. Watercolors, oils, chalk even or go old school. Mod Podge! Make a great collage of photos (may want to use a photo copy), pretty papers, fabric or lace and other bits from around the house. Sort of an oversize scrapbook page. You can use Mod Podge to make it permanent or just free hand it. Display your lovely art on the newly revived easel. When the seasons change, display the Holiday Menu, Newsletters, etc! You get the idea. Lastly, if you want it outdoors, a nifty "ladder" for a vine plant or take it to the birds. That would be one cool bird feeder. Best to you!

Oops sorry, I looked at that wrong, thought it was a 5" not 5' easel..... If your kitchen/dining area is large enough, maybe make a chalkboard in a nice frame to announce the evening meal, leave sweet messages on, or grocery lists..... Now I see the header says 5" & the post says 5'...... Either size there should be lots of fun ways to repurpose it! :)

@carolyn If it's 5" and room in a kitchen I would try a nice Recipe book. If the question is for a 5' easel, there are many beautiful pieces of art to be checked out of the Library just like books. I remember a dear friend putting works of art on her wall from there. Believe the time frame for that was a month.
