Clay drain line turned in base for flower pot.Base is a clay drain line. Top is a flower pot. I wanted to be able to move the top pieces so I made it that the flower pot can come out. You don't have to paint the bottom, The orange clay looks nice against the green in your garden space. This time of year it is fun to dream of your garden space. For now I am just storing my bulbs and seeds before I move it to the out doors space.
This was the first step: I just added layers of organic shapes and lines. I wanted to bring out the top pieces, so I added a brown tone. The hard part is knowing when to stop.
This is the container before I made the changes. When the top pot broke after 15 year and a cold winter, I was ready for a change.

Great idea! How and with what did you attach the wood onto the bottom of the bowl?

I will try to take a close up for you. He is always drill holes in my out door pots for drainage. Nut and bolts are used to keep the wood pieces in place.
