Can you paint Formica counter tops? I would like to paint my cabinets grey but the counter tops are a light plum color.

Lowes has a counter top makeover kit, think it will work on yours too, but you can go to their website and check it out

Rustoleum and Gianni Granite both make kits to paint formica. Also, you can buy laminate sheets at Lowe's and Home Depot to redo the laminate. That's a harder job though...

I have done the Gianni in both my son's and niece's house and I have been asked to re-do my nephew's basement kitchen counters. They come out beautifully.

yes you can! I painted my formica counter tops and did a step by step pictorial on my FB I do not know how to share the process with pictures here. but I used all satin paint and all was wall paints, then I finished with 9 coats of marine polyurethane.. every thing I used was water clean up. that was 7 yrs aga and they still look wonderful I think maybe every 10 yrs I might sand and paint for a new look!

thank you both, oh and the cabinets are formica too, they were a dark color when we moved here 17 yrs ago, I sanded them, put bin sealer on them then painted them an egg shell color and stenciled them, then when we did the Kitchen redo I sanded them again, then painted them white white! and put the same sealer I used on the counter tops, after several years now, there is no yellowing and they wipe off with water.
