Usually with older ductwork, you may run into asbestos in the white tape that was often used ...»
to seal joints in the ducts. It's not really harmful if left undisturbed and most folks will wrap it with new rather than remove it. Your more likely to run into it in old joint compound...so you should be careful and wear a respirator/mask when sanding old walls. Most people aren't aware of that risk.

Older fridges and freezers do not belong outside in un-conditioned spaces. In fact new ones ...»
also. The water is caused by the inefficiency of the older appliance not being insulated well. The extreme temps we have been having with humidity levels cause condensation to form on the cabinet surface of the fridge. Also older appliances such as you suggest it is can waste a whole lot of energy just being in a conditioned space, much worse when its outside and working against the elements such as heat and extreme cold in winter.

Until the weather beings to cool down and humidity levels drop, this will continue to happen.

It couldnt be put any better. Give Bob a call. We see alot of this in older homes in Atlanta ...»
where there was initially only central heat. Years later, someone comes along and adds air but doesn't properly insulate the supply lines or the register boxes. I'll post a pic later with the black mold outlines coming through the wall in one client's home. Mold and mildew is a much more serious issue in our market.
