Easy Platform Bird Feeder

February is National Bird Feeding Month! With that in mind, I made this super simple super cute platform feeder and my backyard birds love it!
You need : wood cut to the size you choose -- screen for the bottom of the feeder -- chain for hanging -- S hooks for hanging -- decorative hooks (optional) -- paint -- Outdoor Clear Coat -- Wood Glue -- Wood Screws
Glue and screw the wood together to make a box ...(more detailed instructions on my blog)
Sand the edges & sides!
Paint your box...when it's dry use outdoor clear sealer to protect it. (I put on 2 coats)
Add your decorative hardware...
Add a double piece of screen and staple into place...then trim the edges...
Add 4 equal lengths of chain to each corner...the pieces will meet and be connected by a S hook...then a smaller piece of chain connects the S hook to a shepherds hook or a tree limb...
My little birds are happy happy happy...

I have a platform feeder had just screen on it but had to replace because of not only small birds coming to it bluejays robins morning doves red bellied woodpecker cardinals etc. Just an observation put a replaceable square piece of wood in there works great
