Faux Mantel Electric Fireplace
I wanted to create more of a charming backdrop for my decidedly un-charming electric fireplace in the master bedroom. This is how I did it, using parts of a salvaged crib, and things I already had around the house.

The fireplace has much more character now. Unless you have a super-modern decor, I always worry about electric fireplaces looking too sterile.
