Transform a boring tray using Mod Podge and wrapping paper!

I wanted a holiday tray for my family room but didn't want to have to buy one. So, I dug out an old wooden tray, gave it a fresh coat of white paint and then, using mod podge, I attached music sheet wrapping paper to the inside. Couldn't have been easier and for only the cost of the wrapping paper I was able to get a fun "new" tray for my coffee table! ~Vanessa

Can I use acrylic paint for the tray and mod epodge on it? Also, did you spray glue the tray before the paper and/or water down anything? I'm new to this and want to do it right. Any help would be appreciated. It's simply beautiful.
