I love adding original art to my painted furniture pieces. This table made a great canvas for a Poppy painting. Art doesn't have to be just on the walls!
Hand-painted poppy added and a just slight distressing. I also went over the entire top with a Minwax Stain & Seal, which slightly darkens the paint and ages it a bit. I find chalk paint to be a bit "pastel" for my taste at times. I left the legs and skirt the natural color and matched the brown in the flower to the color of the base. I had enough of the chalk paint left over to do a wooden file box with a transfer and stencil, as well!
Small Clover-shaped drop leaf table from auction - $25 (had cigarette burns on top)
Homemade chalk paint (1 part Plaster of Paris, mixed with enough water to whisk it smooth), and 3 parts Latex Interior Flat Paint (sample container from Lowes for $3), in a country green color.
File Box, done with leftover chalk paint, with Matte Medium Gel Transfer from The Graphics Fairy images, with stenciled details.

That table is just beautiful. You are very talented it will be gone in the blink of an eye. Wish like anything that I had the extra cash. Heck, I'm proud of you and don't even know you.
