  • @janet kay shape ...DO NOT use Vinegar, WIndex or anything Citrus based on granite... ; granite does not ' like' these products. I have used several commercial products, and I do like the " Hopes Perfect Granite"...they make several varieties of this product. If you prefer a more natural product you can make yourself ( which I have also used !) , here is a link to that ...http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/06/diy-homemade-granite-cleaner.html

We are moving to a home with granite countertops. I've never had them before. Truly, I prefer my old laminate ones. They are so easy to keep clean. Just hope I'm not getting myself into a lot of trouble that I will regret soon.

I use the granite cleaner from Walmart but then use oil base stainless steel cleaner to make them shine. I have not found anything else to make them shin like ss cleaner. Can get it home depot or amazon. Make sure it is oil based.

I use WD40. Just spray it on and wipe off with a soft cloth. Read label before using. I get it at the Dollar Store. I also use it to clean my black kitchen sink.

I worked selling granite awhile back. I can tell you that if you put water on counter and it stays bubbled up you don't need to reseal, if it soaks in you need resealing. So many people used to come in looking for sealer because they were given misinformation they needed to reseal them after so many years. As far as cleaning, I can tell you that I use dollar store Furniture polish on all of mine and it works great! It also is great for shining up your stainless steel appliances.
