From Drab to Fab Farmhouse - A Boring Chair Gets a Makeover

This is the absolute, simplest makeover with the most bang for the buck. In this case, less than $5 was spent on this solid oak chair. It was found at a thrift store and I grabbed it because it has great lines and details and a great planked seat.
I decided on a coat of creamy white to create a farmhouse/shabby look for the chair.
The paint used was a combo of chalk paint and acrylic milk paint. I did not need to prime or really do any prep work except to give the chair a good clean. It took a few coats to cover.
I distressed back in places to show off the chair's great detail.
The seat is fantastic. In the store, it was covered by a really filthy, tie-on fabric seat cushion. That was left behind at the store :)
The back has details that were previously not really noticeable.
Amazing what fresh vision and paint can do. From drab to fab! My farmhouse chair!
