Anyone can add a gas fireplace to your living room and save the money on labor.
We started by taking up the existing flooring to he a concrete base to start with
Then we framed up the area like we wanted it to look
Next we used plywood to finish out the framing and made it secure
Then we sheet rocked the walks we had just built and added plywood to the benches. These benches do not open but u could make them to where they would.
I mudded the sheet rock and sanded it smooth then painted it this beautiful maze gold. My husband laid the ceramic tile to the hearth and to the benches.
We added the tile and I did the decorating. I think it turned out beautiful. The logs are gas. The insert and the logs were the most expensive of all of it. We also left the door behind it because it is in our hall, and now we can get behind the fireplace if there is a gas leak or problems.
