I absolutely love wood and these are all neat ideas. I've been dreaming of a wood slice walkway since I saw it on Pinterest about a year ago. It'll happen since, sadly, we have a a number of trees that had to be taken down and more to come. -

Hmm, I have some black walnut logs in the back and I took a few branches that were about the size you mentioned for Coasters. I think the black walnut logs will turn into excellent looking coasters because of their unique black center. I'll post pictures of when that project is complete, thanks for the tutorial on how to do it. -
