Organizing Laundry Closets

Not everyone has a large laundry room. Some of us have a small laundry closet, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Having a small space to organize and decorate is an easy and rewarding project. For example, it's a great opportunity to use a bold color that you may not want for a living area. It is also inexpensive to purchase a few matching plastic bins and organize your space.
When we purchased our home, the laundry closet had only one shelf above the washer and dryer. We added an additional two shelves to maximize the storage right up to the ceiling. This made a huge difference and using wire racks was an economical way to make the space more useful.
After painting the walls green, I concentrated on organizing the space. I added matching white baskets which gave the space a cohesive and bright feel. Although my baskets are not all exactly the same, they are all white and they brighten up a space that is otherwise in a pretty dark corner.

Thank you so much, Brenda! The color is Lemongrass from Sherwin Williams but we painted years ago so I don't know if it's still available. I'm sure her laundry area will look great, especially with her new machines!
