Dog kennel Welsh dresser

I have acquired a dog kennel Welsh dresser that I came across in the street being thrown out and looking at the shape of some of the decorative wood I would like to give it a Moroccan type look instead of the usual revarnish, blue, green, grey or white. It will be in my front room not my kitchen. Any ideas or suggestions please. Thanks

Wow! Lucky dog! I see this painted with Annie Sloan ' s chalk paint in your favorite color. Or merely cleaned up, new hardware, and placed in a place of honor. I am looking for something like that for my sewing room. Enjoy the process.

Colored China knobs.....fabric behind the glass to pull your motif.....ethnic containers.

I don't know what your walls are, but I would go a reddish burgundy. I know nothing about Morocccan, but I guess gold could be used to accent the doors. Look at some the furniture in this style to get your color scheme.

I recently answered your question about a Moroccan application. There is a site www.generalfinishes/red paint I think you would enjoy all the colors they show. Also how about using the upholstery nail finishing.....they feature a deep blue using this. Good luck.

Wonderful piece, lot of possibilities. You might even consider separating the top and bottom with maybe different treatments depending how this would fit into your space.

Thanks for that idea. I had considered separating them as I had the 2 ideas. Morrocan and also I wanted to try something totally different I have been given the lids of cheap de-humidifiers and they have quite a good swirly sort of bubbles pattern that I thought about trying as a cheap stencil. somewhere on it. So thank you again. x

You may need to find an outlet in the UK but I recently bought this set of stencils and am excited to use them.

Oh Linda, sorry for the misunderstanding. This is a photo clipped from the link I posted. I haven't used these stencils yet. I'm intimidated!
