About Me:

I love decorating, creating and makeovers. Redo something, rearrange a room or just the accesories. Adding new beauty.

Favorite area of home improvement:

the plan, the thoughts then the actions. Finally the vision becoming reality... Can't relax to enjoy though... Another thought is in the planning.

Does anyone know how to clean a crystal chandelier?

I have an electrician coming to hang it & I want to clean it while it is eye level. It has been in storage for 4 years.

Oh I love this light, I would possibly use a kiddienpool to use hot soapy water then rinse ...»
well. Have a friend hold it so electical parts don't get wet. Do it a few days before electrician arrives.

Cleaning & Organization: How do you clean a dishwasher? I'm not sure if it is hard water or just food particules collecting with use.....

Recycled parking lot into walkway

Mu husband and I located a business where parking lot was being chewed into oblivion and brought the pieces home and made a walkway. We even placed stone statue with under-lighting in the middle to memorialize our son. This is mostly in the shade bur sure would like to have blooming plants in the center. Along the walk we planted dwarf gardenias.

From dilapidated garage to the start of our English garden.

We carefully removed the 100 year old siding from the walls we tore down and used them to side the new wall we put up. Our garage was always too small for a car, so now it's a better shed with new sitting area.

Old Door Privacy Screen

I used old doors from our 1938 home to make this privacy screen for our backyard. I used to hinges to attach them to each other. I painted them and sealed them with Helmsman since it would be outside. For more pictures, and outside decor ideas visit my blog at www.notjustahousewife.net
