Garage+wood workshop living together - how to keep it clean

Hello,
My husband does a lot of wood work in our garage, where we park our car and also use for storage and a second fridge. The garage is always dirty. He does not have a dust collector and it's very messy. What good and easy solutions are out there so he can continue to work inside the garage but it's not a permanent mess? Thanks in advance!

A decent quality wet/dry vac makes a great dust collector provided your husband hooks it up to each of his tools as he's using them. It doesn't take the largest or the most powerful vac but you can easily collect 70, 80% or more. Also, while not specifically a dust collector, in addition I know people using the old square box room fans and tape an air conditioning filter to the suction side. Granted neither of these is a cure all but they will significantly reduce the amount of sawdust and the fine wood dust particles that float in the air and accumulate on everything after the area is closed up for the day.

I was told to get rid of my hobby shop and that's how the problem was solved! To much contention.

Just keep up with him. As long as you know where his at . Just tidy it up.

My dear mother-in-law had the same problem. Grandpa, however built us all beautiful furniture,, We didn't want to discourage him. She solved the problem by covering her car with an old bedspread and could just shake it off and vacuum it up when he was finished for the day. Really didn't take that long.

This has long been a bone of contention with my husband and I. I let it go for awhile and finally end up cleaning it myself or at least the part of the garage that I use. A wet/dry vac, as Dennis suggested, may help. I usually let my husband's stuff alone. When he can't find something, he will do something about it. When I get fed up, some times I start throwing things out. Things, for example, that have cobweb all over them. If, obviously, he has not used them to reach that condition, he has lost them or will never use again.
