Foyer Credenza Makeover with Ironstone Milk Paint

My first project using Miss Mustard Seed's new milk paint line (in the color Ironstone). This paint can create a chippy effect once it dries and you scrap off the peeling paint.
The milk paint comes in powder form. To mix I poured about 1/2 cup of milk paint powder in a plastic cup. I then stirred in 1/2 cup of water (less water since it was a light color and I wanted it more opaque). I mixed it up with a stirrer stick for about 5 minutes and I was ready to get to work.
Once dried I scraped with a metal putty knife to get the final effect. Seal in with wax for a nice finish.

Did you paint the piece black, then add the milk paint? This looks great and will work great with my entry piece! Thanks for posting
