Our French Country Family Room

Hi! I'm Lynda from GatesofCrystal.blogspot.com. Our family room has been in a constant state of change - especially in the last two years - when I went from reds and yellows to whites and blue.
Looking from the dining room
Nothing in our house is new. Everything is second hand, refurbished, slipcovered or we built it ourselves.
The sofa table behind our couch was the first piece of furniture that we built. We reasoned that if it didn't turn out well it was hidden behind the couch! But we love it and have built several more pieces since then -including a dining room table.
I found our couch at a second hand store. We love it because it's super deep and comfortable. The upholstery on it is a deep beige but I slipcovered it in a white duck.
My husband built this mantel and another identical one that across the room in the living room.
Our coffee table is made from an old industrial cart from the 'Chicago Machinery Exchange.'
My blog is filled with instructions for sewing slipcovers, building furniture and refurbishing what you already have.

I love the blue shutters! Do they go all the way to the floor? Probably do, but if so are they on a track that can be pulled to totally cover window? Thank you

Beautiful. Where did you get the French sign in the dining room? And the scenery pillows on the couch. Thank you

I absolutely love your style. I am French and grew up in France and I do love that blue you use in your home! I love that you use second hand furniture and upcycle them! I think your slipcovers are fabulous too!
