SK's Sweet Lizzie Rose

A pretty little project for a pretty little girl. This old bedside table gets a new life.
Heidi at http://pinelodgelabradoodles.com/ loves to bring me the odd bit once in a while. She is an amazing buyer. $9.00 for this damaged little table.

The legs and doors needed to be removed, sanded and reattached.
The destroyed bits of wood were replaced with putty. Durham's Rock hard putty sets up quick so you must work fast. It is then sanded to match the surrounding wood.
The little drawer where treasures of a little girl will be kept, is lined with pretty rose themed paper.
Lizzie is a very special child with fantasies and daydreams swirling through her head, so her little bedside table needed to be a touch whimsical.

I also wanted her to have a piece she could grow up with. And even have the chance to hand her treasure down to a daughter of her own some day.

The inside of the cabinet door and flat shelf surfaces were lined with more rose themed paper.
The colors were chosen to match her bed linens and hand made quilt.

The cute little cream backplates and knobs come from Hobby Lobby
My chalk recipe is: 1 part calcium carbonate (powdered chalk) 2 parts flat latex paint.

1 Part Chalk

2 Parts Flat Latex Paint

Mix till no lumps and keep stirring occasionally while painting.

2 TBSP water.
I painted the top with a custom cream chalk paint. When the top coat of cream was dry I sanded it back to reveal the dark pink undercoat.

The graphics from The Graphic Fairy were perfect for the new painted pine top.
