Play & Display - Toys in a Frame

The moment my husband walked in from his wood shop, with these wooden toys he had made for our only son – I was beside myself.
On one hand, I knew these would be adored and loved and played with by little hands for years to come. On the other hand, I didn’t want a single little hand to touch them and I wanted to display them behind glass, kept nice and tidy on a cute little shelf.
The only thing I did know for sure . . . they were the cutest darn things I had ever seen.
Oh – and my husband is amazing.
So, I took my dilemma to Michael's craft store, and I discovered these wooden trays - and I knew they were the perfect solution.
So I painted them, and nailed in some small nails just where I needed them. After my son is done playing with his adorable wooden toys . . .
. . . I simply, prop them back up on the shelf.
Play and Display - it's what you do when you just can't get enough of your child's toys!

What a wonderful gift your husband made for his son. It is from the heart. When he's older, your son will treasure what his Daddy made for him out of pure love. Wonderful/clever idea for displaying!

OK I would feel the same way you did upon seeing these darling toys! My solution: Ask hubby to make you a set for yourself : ) I do woodworking myself and I sure wish hubby could but he is just not that kind of person : ( YOUR HUBBY DID A FANTASTIC JOB!! Do we have a tutorial? LOL
