Neck roll pillows

I want to make 2 decorative neck roll pillows for our bedroom. I have the fabric & will buy 2 large foam rolls. My concern is how to finish off the ends. I thought of just making the covers longer than the foam and then bunching up the excess & tying off with a nice ribbon. Any other suggestions? Sue

Have seen the ends with a seam that has a cord inserted, and then the cord is tightened and knotted causing a pleating effect, or a tassel added.

I would suggest that you make a casing and use some elastic. You could then also add a beautiful button over the remaining (small) opening for a decorative effect.

I finish the ends of neck roll pillows by adding a flange at the ends. The length of the flange equals the circumference of the pillow plus an allowance for a narrow hem on each end. The width equals half the diameter of the pillow plus a seam allowance for attaching to the ends of the pillow and an allowance for a casing for ribbon. Sew cording at each end of the pillow and attach the flange. Run ribbon through the casing.Cinch the ribbon and tie in a bow. Also, instead of foam, I use a length of batting and tightly roll it to the desired circumference of the pillow.
