Repurposed window

I distressed this window and rebuilt the bottom sash, took out the bottom glass (broken) and added chalkboards. The tops are to used as a picture frame. Any ideas that I could do to make it better or just fine as it sits? Ideas? Thoughts?

Shutter chalk, marker, pencil holders. Add a "window sill" roll of paper on the bottom. Cut off lengths as desired

What a great idea for the chalkboards in the broken panes!! Once u get the art in the top panes it will look great, and ditto Shell's ideas for a finished look.

What about adding keyhooks to bottom, or some funky hinges to one side?

Use as your Command Center! Your blackboard was my inspiration. Behind the the top glass frames, use with erasable markers with This Week's Calendar, Menus etc behind the glass. The sheets could be changed for any occasion or need.

Sally, that is a great idea! I have two windows that I turned into very fancy windows with stained glass paint. Love the chalkboard idea.

Hang on a triangular position. Add a clock. Add a thick cork board for messages.

Place photos in top two..use removable tape so you can keep changing them, hang using picture hooks screwed on back. Good idea to have chalk handy, paint a tuna can, glue felt inside and screw it to the frame..chalk holder. Add some metal hooks (hobby lobby) for keys..dog leash..caps etc. Make it interesting and fun!

This is a great idea, but in line with Jan B.'s idea how about using a scrabble game tile holder screwed to the bottom of window to hold the chalk? Or make a small shelf to hold chalk and eraser.

A "flower box" type thing underneath?

Lined paper on the back of the glass & you have a dry erase board on top, chalkboard on the bottom. Add a shelf or window box to the bottom. You can decorate it for every season with ivy, leaves, evergreen garland, around the edges. Personally, I think the wood is beautiful but if you Lov paint, then paint away.

How about shutters (the slatted kind) on the sides to hold photos, notes, mail, etc. You do need something on the bottom (maybe an old windowsill) to hold chalk, eraser, the dry erase markers someone mentioned, and to give it a finished look. I'm picturing a whole command center!

Great. You all have great ideas. In fact too many and i only have one window left. (This one) but i am going to add a small shelf to the bottom, and some crown molding to the top and i really liked the calendar to a pane. I just need to find two or three hangers, hopefully the restore has some tomorrow. And as long as i remember, i will post a after pic.

I added chicken wire in the back and then cut out a heart. Added moss and a shelf with my metal hand I had laying around.
