60s /70s party hall decorations

I am holding a 60s/70s party and want to decorate the hall with free upcycled / homemade decs. Does anyone have any ideas, please?

How about stringing up some old records; 45s, 33s, & hang from the ceiling? Get colorful poster paper & cut out crazy flowers, [for that hippe 60's vibe] ?

  Hi Barbara. Thanks for your answer. That is exactly what I want do but nobody wants to get rid of their LPs cheaply and would hate to ruin good ones. :-(

You could use canning lids and decorate them with peace symbols, punch a little hole in them and hang them up for the 60's theme. If you can find a round styrofoam ball, you could break up some cd's and glue to it and make a disco ball for the 70's.

  Wow, Robyn thanks for the great ideas. I like the disco ball idea. I love the idea of the peace - one if my projects - but I am not very good at artwork!!! I will have to get someone else to do the painting bit! Thanks for your ideas!!
