A Route 66 Styled Pallet Wood Cupboard Done Easy!

I love old signs. And I love pallet wood just as much. But I don't love piles of exposed junk that needs hidden storage.
So I gathered up some of that fabulous wood of mine, and put it to work.
Cutting everything down to size, a little cupboard was born... with a twist.
It wears an old sign that couldn't be easier to make!
Wanna learn how? Let's go!
The cutest cupboard in the land... all from pallet wood.
Various pallet wood was cut to size, then attached with screws.

The 'door' proved to be a challenge. I didn't have enough of that kind of wood for 3 long strips, so I pieced it together for a random look. It turned out even better because of it!

The blog link below shows you how it was installed together.
A cute Route 66 stencil from my Old Signs collection was placed just off centre, to resemble the door having been cut out of an old sign.
I have a big 'ol post written on how to stencil for phenomenal results, however I'll share one fab tip with you here. Your brush needs to be NEARLY DRY for the crispest, sharpest lines.

The blog link below will lead you to some other invaluable tips that will leave you in awe of your super talents...
The black lines were perfection, and really popped against the blonde wood! And just for fun, I coloured that odd chunk black for a patchworked look.
Rusty old hinges and random hardware really helped the piece to look authentically old. Isn't it cute?!
The little pallet cabinet is perfect for my junky little workshop! But it's also doing a really important job... click the link below to check it out, and for more info on the cabinet build.
