When I got my little girls a "Baby Alive Doll" I was surprise to see how much the food and juice refills would be and how little they give you for the price. I don't know about other people's little girls but my little girls like to fed their baby dolls a lot during the day and I don't have the money to keep buying the baby food at those prices. So because I love to make things myself and I decide to search the web and to find a homemade recipe and I did. Through Pinterest I found a recipe on http://www.sophiassundries.com/2009/12/christmas-on-budget-part-4.html for homemade Baby Alive food and juice. I took the recipe and changed it up a little bit to make it for my girls.
I used the materials I had at home to make these recipes.
Materials I used:

Empty Mocoa Frappachino Bottles

Empty Vitamin Jars

Baking Soda

Food Coloring

Water
First I measured to see how much Baking Soda would fit in the empty vitamin jar.
Then I poured the baking soda into a plastic bag so I could color it.
I added a few drops of food coloring into the bag and sealed the bag. Then mix the color by breaking up the color drop and mix all the baking soda to the color I wanted it.
Then I put it back into the vitamin jar.
I colored one green for "Peas" and one orange for "Peaches"
I then made labels for them on my computer to let the girls know how to mix the food. The recipe is a 3 to 1 ratio of Baking Soda to water, so I gave the girls a teaspoon measuring spoon for them to keep for their Baby Alive food. The label says mix 3 scoops of food (Baking Soda) with 2 scoops of water. The mixture will look watery but it is thick enough because any thicker and you could clog your baby alive so don't make it thick.
This is the teaspoon I gave the girls to keep to make their food.
For the Baby Alive juice it is really easy. Just pour water into the Empty Mocoa Frappachino bottles.
Color one with yellow and red food coloring to make it orange for "Orange Juice". Color the other with just yellow food coloring for "Apple Juice". That is it.
I also made labels for the juice as well.

The girls LOVED it! Ariana hugs me and thanks me all the time for making this because now she can feed her baby all the time LOL

Also for the diapers I do not buy the baby alive diapers I buy the cheap brand preemie or newborn diapers and they fit just fine and are way cheaper.

Does the "food" mold? I tried the recipe with corn starch and water. I mixed it up and let it dry out for two days, then I ran it through a food processor and I put it in containers. Now it's molded and I had to toss it. My little girl is getting a doll for Christmas that will eat powder food. She has one that eats the play doh kind but she doesn't know to make the food smaller so it gets stuck.
