Boxelder trees and apple trees attract these bugs. Once your yard or home gets infested with
them, it is very hard...if not impossible...to get rid of them. They find a way to get into your house...through the smallest cracks or spaces, they can come into the house on your pets fur, or just fly in when you open your door. They show up in windows, on floors, in the basement and attic...any room of the house! They live under vinyl siding...and can hybernate there during the winter months. My parents keep their house so clean, you can eat off the floor...but they have had a problem with these bugs for several years, and even the cooperative extensions in the area and Cornell University have been unable to provide a permanent solution to getting rid of them. They may be harmless, but they are bugs...and that is disgusting to find in your home!
