we are on a concrete slab and have carpet and lino, what kind of wood is popular and what can i put in. I LIKE SMALL PLANKS AND NATURAL STAIN

  • Try the Lumber Liquidator, they have a huge selection of flooring.
  • Are you open to using laminate flloring? If so, then doing a "floating floor" might be the best for going over a concrete slab.

    Go with an engineer wood...you will need to glue it down since you are on a concrete slab. The wood in my profile pic is an engineered wood from Home Depot. That I installed myself....I pulled up the carpet and install wood in one day.

    Go for laminate or engineer wood it's alot more durable especially if you have pets. Also make sure your concrete floors are leveled, your going to have problems if there not.
  • I have a great wholesale supplier for you on engineered flooring...been using him on investment whole house remodel flips for years...he's got an engineered oak that hold up great and is about $1.70 a sq ft.
