Building an Indoor Greenhouse

I have an unheated sunroom and I needed a warm spot to start seeds and keep houseplants. I ended up making a small indoor greenhouse using PVC pipe and clear plastic sheet! Details at http://www.walterreeves.com/how-to-archive/i...

Very inventive, Walter. Do you worry about condensation and your wood floors?

I love this. Maybe I can make one that I could adapt to sit on the windowsill for the herb garden I want to plant

My unheated sunporch has a cement floor. I cover all the windows with clear plastic, then use electric heaters to warm. Even my 'tropicals' survive our Canadian winters.

Hi Walter, we have a back screen porch and my son found a roll of heavy clear plastic at a salvage store that had grommets in it. He put up screws and hung it so he could keep his "babies" over the winter (my son is a plant nut like his mom). On those few nights when it gets really cold, we have a ceramic heater (safer kind) that we turn on. And he and his friend will sit out there in the early afternoons when it is not too chilly. He loves his porch.

We recently put up a small "warm room" in our basement. We live in a snow state so starting seeds outdoor is not going to work. I read that to start seeds indoors the temperature needs to be at least 75 degrees. We have a walk out basement. Can you give me some hints for the safest way to keep this warm room at the required temperature. (heating device)? photo of the warm room. Thank you, Rain
