Ever feel like you could go crazy with disorganization? Yep, that's me sometimes. Sometimes I do something temporary about it, but then it all comes undone super quick.
My thread was one of those instances. I would organize them quickly in a drawer only to have them completely out of whack 2 seconds later (literally). Finally I decided to do something about it and make a functional (and pretty) thread organizer.
I had pinned an DIY thread organizer ages ago that I loved and decided to finally just do it. The best part about it was it used supplies that I either had or that were easy to get and for a cheap price. Also it took me 10 minutes of my time to actually make. Can you say awesome! I love projects that are quick and too the point and have a very satisfying result.
I already had the embroidery hoop, so all I needed was a 1/8 inch dowel (I accidently got the size bigger, but 1/8th would work best). I cut the dowel into pieces to hold the thread and then inserted them into the hoop. I then secured the dowels to the hoop with gorilla glue and let it dry. And that's it. Seriously, it really took me 10 minutes!.

Great idea! Is there a reason you can't have more dowel pegs? I would like to maximize capacity to get all my thread onto 2 hoops, one inside the other.

Awesome idea! I bought a plastic thread keeper thinking it would hold all my spools and bobbins nicely. Nope! I have the older style of thread that has a wider spool and it doesn't fit the case as I would like. This idea is a wonderful one, I think I'll make the pegs a bit longer so I can fit the matching bobbin on the peg with the spool of thread to match, they will always be together then when I need them...I'll space the spools a bit closer together, and get maybe 3 sizes of embroidery hoops to nest them one inside another, and perhaps put something on the back to make the bottom of the hoop stick out from the wall just a little, to give it a slight tilt to keep everything as it should be, nothing falling off when I move something to get what I need...Yes, this looks like a very doable and easy project and so, so, helpful! Thank you for sharing it with us! I am grateful. Blessings!

Great organizational idea! This would be a great project to help organize necklaces or scarves also. In those cases maybe paint it. Love this idea!!
