My Niece is having another baby, so her son is now moving into his own BIG BOY room. To help in the transition, they are making the Theme TRAINS as he loves Choo Choo's and everything TRAINS! So I made him a sign for both decor and for hanging clothes hats, etc. I didn't get pictures of every step, but I'll explain the steps anyway. FUN STUFF HERE FOLKS!
First of all I bought 2 1" x 4" x 6' boards. The one on the right. I bought two, even though this picture only shows one. I cut one of the boards in half for the RR Crossing sign. Then I spray painted all boards white. (ignore please my messy basement shelves behind)
I routed (with help from a friend) out the middle of both boards, so when put together they lay flat. I also Wood glued them and clamped them, then let them sit overnight. Next picture is the final look.
I took vinyl and cut out the lettering and applied it onto the "cross' wood. Then attached it to the 6' board with 2 screws. Added to reflectors to aide in the look and screwed in 3 drawer handles for hanging things on. HOW CUTE IS THIS!!! It's his Xmas present, and he gets it tomorrow..I can hardly wait for him to see it. Choo...Choo....All Aboard!
Suggested materials:
